I was driving and dropped off a friend in Cabbagetown. I stopped at a stop sign, saw a car coming, but it was going really slow and I had plenty of time to make a left turn.
The two dudes in the other car thought I had cut them off and then decided to teach me a “lesson” and the road rage ensued. They sped up and pinned my car against the curb. They then started verbally assaulting me, saying “Fuck you cunt”, and “you fucking bitch!”. Their words were sometimes unintelligible and slurred, and it became obvious they had been drinking. They screamed at me for a few minutes, but it felt like forever because I couldn’t get away. I didn’t want to say anything because I thought if I was calm, they would realize what rage they were unleashing on me, and I didn’t want to escalate the situation. But I’m angry now that I just had to take it.
Road rage, as it turns out, can also be street harassment.
